Does Equinox Have a Sauna?

Some do, but most don't. Almost every Equinox has a eucalyptus steam room in the locker rooms, but only 33 of the 110 open Equinox clubs in the US list a sauna, and 3 of those are infrared saunas only. If a dry sauna is why you're joining, check the club first.

We list 36 Equinox clubs in the AllSaunas directory, and every one of them has a steam room. To answer the sauna question for every club, not only the ones we list, we went through the amenity list on every US club page on equinox.com in November 2026.

Steam room: at almost every club

The steam room is the Equinox standard. Equinox calls it the eucalyptus steam room, and it's usually inside the men's and women's locker rooms. In our check, almost every open US club showed one. The clear exception is Equinox Hamptons in Bridgehampton, a summer-only club with outdoor barrel saunas instead of a steam room.

So if you only want to sweat after a workout, any Equinox will do. If you want dry heat, you need to pick your club.

Which Equinox locations have a sauna

These are the 33 open US clubs whose Equinox page listed a sauna in November 2026. "Men's and women's" means one in each locker room.

A few patterns stand out. All six Sports Clubs (Boston, Los Angeles, New York, Orange County, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.) have saunas. Several clubs pair a co-ed sauna with a cold plunge, like Fulton Market, Domino and Rainier Square. Most neighborhood clubs in Manhattan, the Bay Area and Texas stick to steam, and none of the four Texas clubs listed a sauna.

Three clubs that haven't opened yet also list saunas: Fenway in Boston, Terminal Warehouse in Manhattan and South Gulch in Nashville. Pacific Palisades is closed for now and says it reopens on December 15 with a co-ed sauna and a cold plunge.

Equinox clubs with a cold plunge

18 open US clubs list a cold plunge. 13 of them are in the table above, and five more have a cold plunge without a sauna: Bloomfield Hills in Michigan, Hollywood in Los Angeles, Highland Park in Dallas, Rittenhouse in Philadelphia and San Ramon in California. At several clubs the plunge sits next to the lap pool as a pair of hot and cold plunge pools.

If you want to go back and forth between heat and cold, the clubs with both a sauna and a cold plunge are the ones to look at. You can also search our directory for cold plunges near you, at Equinox or anywhere else.

Infrared saunas at Equinox

Five clubs list an infrared sauna: Coral Gables, Tribeca, East 74th Street, High Line and Sports Club Boston. At most of them Equinox ties it to The Spa, its in-club spa, describing "bodywork services at The Spa featuring infrared saunas". Ask the front desk whether members can use it on their own or only as part of a booked service.

Is the Equinox sauna co-ed?

Usually not. At most clubs the sauna and steam room are inside the men's and women's locker rooms, so they're single-sex. Nine open clubs list a co-ed sauna, sometimes in addition to the locker room ones. Wear a swimsuit there.

Watch for the odd cases too. Franklin Street in Boston lists a sauna in the men's locker room only, Dartmouth lists a men's and a co-ed one but no women's, and Brickell in Miami lists one for women only.

Can you use any club's sauna with your membership?

Only the clubs your plan covers. Equinox sells memberships by club access, and its club finder marks some clubs "Included in Destination or higher plans". Before you plan around a sauna at another club, open that club's page on equinox.com and check which plan it needs.

How to check your club

1. Open the club's page on equinox.com and scroll to the full amenities list. Look for "Sauna - Men's", "Sauna - Women's" or "Sauna - Co-Ed". "Steam Room" alone means no dry sauna.
2. Search Equinox in our directory to see the rooms, hours and address for each club we list.
3. Ask on a tour. Rooms close for repairs, and clubs get renovated.

If you're deciding between a steam room and a sauna, our guide to steam rooms vs. saunas explains how they feel different. And if you're comparing gym chains, our guide to gyms with a sauna has a table of every chain we track, and our Planet Fitness article covers the biggest chain without one. 24 Hour Fitness is a good bet if you want a sauna and a steam room at the same club.
